Belleville Arts & Culture Grant
Sea Cadets Receive $3000.00 Arts & Culture Grant from City of Belleville
The City of Belleville Grant Committee has awarded the Navy League of Canada, Belleville Branch, supporting the Belleville Sea Cadets $3000.00 for the 2022 funding year. This has been spent on the purchase of 4 new Clarinets. The RCSCC Quinte Sea Cadet Band has been recognisable in our community for decades. Many of the instruments currently owned were purchased or donated in the 1970s, more than 50 years ago. The Music program at RCSCC Quinte is free of charge to cadets including the borrowing of an instrument. Proven benefits of a youth music program are: improved grades, lower risk of substance abuse, self discipline & expression, & introduction to a life long love of music.
Band instruction will resume with the beginning of the new training year in September.
Sea Cadets, is a free program open to all 12-19 year olds. Belleville Sea Cadets meet every Thursday at 630 pm, September to June at 16 South Front St. Belleville.
RCSCC Quinte and Navy League Canada (Belleville Branch) would like to thank the community for the incredible support this past weekend, April 28/29. With your help we raised over $3000 in support of the sea cadet program. We would also like to say thank you Belleville Pizza Hut for their support of the weekend, as well as the many businesses that supported us by allowing our cadets to campaign at their business.
